Why KZGIH

Garden City pressure. Zongo talent. A bridge that was missing.

Dense Zongo settlements face overflowing waste, poor drainage and flooding, and heavy reliance on traditional energy— while a youthful population and rich craftsmanship tradition remain under-connected to climate solutions and formal pathways. KZGIH closes that gap from the classroom to the workshop.

Programs

Two tracks. One pipeline from school to enterprise.

Focus sectors: circular economy (plastic & organic waste), clean energy transition, urban climate resilience, and early STEM / Green TVET.

Track 1

High School “Green Ambassadors”

Partner with local SHS (e.g. T.I. Ahmadiyya SHS, Kumasi Academy) to build climate problem-solvers early.

School-based Green Innovation Clubs (weekend / after-school)
Zongo Eco-Challenge Hackathon — low-cost solutions to neighborhood problems
Peer-to-peer sanitation & waste-management sensitization at home

Track 2

Green Artisan & Enterprise Academy

Upskill artisans and youth, then incubate real eco-businesses from Zongo markets and workshops.

Waste-to-wealth labs (briquettes, plastic pavers)
Green apprenticeship retooling with master craftsmen
3-month accelerator + Demo Day with regional partners
